As we are quickly approaching the start of another great year here at Haigh Elementary, some families may have questions or requests about their child(ren)’s classroom placement for the 2025/26 school year. For the upcoming year, we will have 3-5 classes per grade level that are structured so that our grade level teachers all follow the same curriculum, as well as plan together. When creating class lists, our primary goal is to create a positive classroom learning environment for all of our students. 

Research supports mixed ability and diverse classrooms, so we carefully consider students’ social, emotional and academic skills. A great amount of time goes into this process, supported not only by our classroom teachers, but support staff, specialists and administration as well. Please also remember that every child’s classroom experience is uniquely their own and not predefined by those before them.

For these reasons, we are unable to honor requests for specific teachers or classroom changes. We do welcome, however, emails that inform us about your child’s learning needs.
