Dear Parents,
We want to share some important information about the snacks your child brings to school. Did you know that a healthy snack can help your child focus better, have more energy, and even improve their mood?
Why are hot chips and Takis not a good choice?
While they may be tempting, hot chips and Takis can negatively impact your child’s health. They’re often high in salt, unhealthy fats, and artificial flavors and colors. These can lead to:
- Digestive issues: Such as stomach aches and indigestion.
- Nutritional deficiencies: Unhealthy snacks often lack essential vitamins and minerals.
What are better snack choices?
We ask that you to pack your child these healthier snack options:
- Fruits: Apples, bananas, grapes, and berries
- Vegetables: Carrots, celery, cucumbers, and bell peppers
- Whole grains: Whole-wheat crackers, granola bars, and rice cakes
- Lean protein: Yogurt, yogurt bites, cheese
By making small changes to your child’s snack choices, you can help them develop healthy eating habits that will benefit them for years to come.
Thank you for your support!
