The Haigh Owls are participating in the Martian Marathon this year! If you would like to participate in this fun and exciting running event you can sign up by following the registration steps below for the running event!
How it Works:
Register online and log 25 miles and then head to Dearborn to finish the last 1.2! After the kids complete the Kids’ Martian Marathon in Dearborn they are awarded the same medal that the adult marathoners are receiving that day!
You run 25 miles between now and April 13th! On April 13th, you line up in front of thousands of people who will see you run the last 1.2 miles of your marathon adventure! Start logging your miles today and we will see you on April 13th!!
When logging your miles you can use the attached Log Sheet to stay on track! A great way to log your miles is to run the track at recess! 8 laps on the track at Haigh = 1 mile!
When is the race? Saturday, April 13th in Dearborn. There is a map of the race under the “info” tab on the Martian Marathon homepage. https://www.martianraces.com/info/course-map

You will need to select “I am here to register as a group participant”
To continue on with the registration, you must select
“Team Name” (Haigh Owls – Blue Wave 12:00 Start) and Enter Password (OWLS).
The kids’ race is $26. Please note there are processing fees.
Important Notes:
- If you would like to sign up for the Remind App for any last minute details prior to race day the code is @ kah4f3
- Ms. Layson will pick up the race packets prior to the race on Saturday, April 13th and distribute them during the school day before the race.
- If you would like to purchase a Haigh Martian t-shirt to wear at the race fill out the attached form and return to Ms. Layson by WEDNESDAY, March 20th. . Orders will not be accepted after this date due to getting them printed and back in time.
