The Haigh Owls are participating in the Martian Marathon this year! If you would like to participate in this fun and exciting running event you can sign up by following the registration steps below for the running event!
How it Works:
Register online and log 25 miles on your own and then head to Dearborn to finish the last 1.2! After the kids complete the Kids’ Martian Marathon in Dearborn they are awarded the same medal that the adult marathoners are receiving that day!
You run 25 miles on your own between now and April 12th! On April 12th, you line up in front of thousands of people who will see you run the last 1.2 miles of your marathon adventure! Start logging your miles today and we will see you on April 12th!!
When logging your miles you can use the Log Book to stay on track! See Ms. Layson if you sign up for the Martian Race and she will give you a log book. A great way to log your miles is to run the track at recess! 8 laps on the track at Haigh = 1 mile!
When is the race? Saturday, April 12th in Dearborn at Ford Field Park, 22051 Cherry Hill Street, Dearborn 48124. There is a map of the race and details on parking under the “DETAILS” tab on the Martian Marathon homepage. https://martianraces.com/index.php

YOUR TEAM PASSWORD: OWLS25
Continue on with your registration. You must select “Team Name” and enter the password, OWLS25. The kids’ race is discounted to $23 (thru March 10) so no coupon code is needed. March 11th, the price goes up to $26.
If family members would like to sign up for one of the longer races, you may use the following discount code. SCHOOL CODE for family members ($5 off 5K, 10K, 13.1, or 26.2): SCHOOLGROUP25 – just enter this in the coupon code field for the longer races!
- If you would like to sign up for the Remind App, which I highly recommend, for any last minute details and communication prior to race day the code is @haighmarti
- Ms. Layson will pick up the race packets prior to the race on Saturday, April 12th and distribute them during the school day before the race.
