This year our Summer Discovery Program will be held here at Haigh, we are excited to be back home! The program is only open to students enrolled in Dearborn Public Schools and currently in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Young 5s Kindergarten is also included. All registrations for our Summer Discovery Program will be done online. Please note that an individual registration needs to be done for EACH child you want to attend the program!

Summer Discovery 2025

The Summer Discovery Program is funded by United Way and The Ballmer group! Summer Discovery offers FREE academic, enrichment and innovative activities for students.  

• Current 8th grade students (9th graders in 2025-26) may earn course credit. 
• If there are not 120 students enrolled at a building, the students from that building may end up being bused from their home school to a nearby Summer Discovery school.
• Transportation is available for students that ride the bus during the regular school year only.
  • If a student’s home school is not hosting Summer Discovery due to low enrollment, transportation from the home school to the hosting school will be provided. 
• Students who enroll must attend a minimum of 17 out of the 24 Summer Discovery school days. This is a grant requirement to receive the grant funding that is making this FREE summer opportunity available!
• Breakfast and lunch are provided.
