Haigh Elementary School

A New Principal for Haigh Elementary

Jakubik
A simple note from Donna Jakubik, our new Principal:
“I am hoping you have all heard the news!
I will be returning to Haigh School as the Interim Principal. I am honored and very excited to return to Haigh.  I look forward to working together again to help all students and staff grow and learn each day.
I am looking forward to a great school year.”

Mrs. Jakubik is a dynamic principal who believes that each and every student can realize their potential.  She is a cheerful, energetic educator, one who enjoys working with students, teachers, and parents.  She is a principal who knows Dearborn quite well as she grew up and attended school in Dearborn.  After earning a degree in education at Eastern Michigan University, she was quite proud to return to her hometown to teach.  She was a hard-working teacher, a teacher popular with both parents and students, and her students always learned a great deal.  She taught first, second, third and fifth grades at the following schools: Lowrey, Maples, Woodworth, Henry Ford, and Haigh.  Over time, she decided to obtain an administrative degree so that she could help more students experience the joy of learning.  She went on work as an administrator at Dearborn’s McCollough/Unis School before returning to Haigh School this fall.
As Interim Principal at Haigh Elementary, she will work to make sure all of our students reach  their full potential. She truly cares about the students of Haigh School and will support them to obtain the skills necessary to achieve success in school and in life
